NBC Rehires Conan for Tonight Show
It seems the finale of the Tonight Show with Conan O’brien was a ratings success. He almost tripled Letterman’s ratings for the night. Given the decisions the NBC executives have made the last several seasons, I wouldn’t be surprised at the above outcome.
On a similar note, the Team Conan t-shirts are way out pacing the Team Leno ones. Get yours by clicking the image below while you can.

Told you, Bearman … it’s the power of the pompadour! 🙂
January 24, 2010 at 9:16 pm
isnt pompadour one of the elephant servants of Babar???
January 24, 2010 at 10:38 pm
I never read those books…
January 25, 2010 at 8:04 pm
Now I’m dying to see Conan’s pompadour get a cameo in a Babar book! 🙂
January 24, 2010 at 6:23 pm
I’m gonna miss Conan… I’ve been watching him since I was in school. He better get a job somewhere else and not just run off with his millions!
Nice job on the hair, by the way.
January 24, 2010 at 10:38 pm
Chris…thanks for visiting. I am sure he will pop up somewhere but I say, enjoy your millions for a while.
January 24, 2010 at 7:43 pm
I swear there is going to be a midday movie about this next year 😦
January 24, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Well they had one between Leno and Letterman so I can see it too.
January 24, 2010 at 8:36 pm
you actually made conan good looking…so symmetrical and angular…
January 24, 2010 at 10:39 pm
wasn’t he already symmetrical and angular???
January 24, 2010 at 11:26 pm
You really did a great job on your Conan. You’re getting better and better with the caricatures each go ’round.
January 25, 2010 at 7:56 am
You should see how many renditions I have to do before I am happy. Still not happy all the way…but thanks
January 25, 2010 at 11:33 pm
why yes he is and you depicted him perfectly.
January 24, 2010 at 9:17 pm
i prefer C to L. L is so Lame and C is so Cool for a ginger..
January 24, 2010 at 10:40 pm
Oh boy…another South Park watcher. haha
January 24, 2010 at 11:25 pm
Here’s another one. 😀
January 24, 2010 at 11:25 pm
I used to be in a relationship that was spotty like that. It was always on-again, off-again. And that was just in the bedroom.
January 25, 2010 at 7:57 am
I was going to say something about the Palm sisters but I’ll resist.
January 25, 2010 at 12:19 am
I liked Conan in the later time slot anyway.
January 25, 2010 at 7:59 am
I think he could have grown into the other slot. Jimmy Fallon is breathing a sigh of relief though.
January 25, 2010 at 1:08 am
Zucker is such a weiner, so I think the toon is right on.
January 25, 2010 at 8:01 am
He used to be a WINNER.
January 25, 2010 at 6:46 am
I agree with FJ…who, ironically enough, agrees with you.
Now I guess the real question here would be, “Who do you agree with?”
?
…?
(Er, please disregard above, I shouldn’t be allowed to have access to a computer this early in the morning.)
…Within a few months everyone will have forgotten the whole mess anyway. It’s what we do.
January 25, 2010 at 8:02 am
What do you mean ironically enough FJ agrees with me. I have never seen anyone disagree with me.
January 25, 2010 at 8:23 am
I wish you yanks would make up your fecking mind as to which presenter is in or out! You would think it actually mattered the amount of noise it has created? Does NBC stand for “No Bleeding Clue?”
January 25, 2010 at 8:57 am
Hey who asked for your opinion..haha j/k. I agree it is amazing how much press it has gotten….but I guess Haiti wasn’t a big enough news item.
January 25, 2010 at 11:52 am
A very pungent contrast bearman, or do I mean apposite?
January 25, 2010 at 9:22 am
I thought Conan was a barbarian. You guys all sit up way too late for me.
Good comic though… I recognize him because I have seen all the ruckus on the Today Show. When I was young all we had at that time of night was a test pattern.
January 25, 2010 at 9:47 am
Funny I was watching a fairly recent movie the other day and they played the old stand by trick of a guy falling asleep watching tv only to waken by snow on the TV. What channel doesnt broadcast 24 hours these days?
January 25, 2010 at 10:05 am
That sounds about right for NBC…
January 25, 2010 at 2:53 pm
You wonder why I can’t get a job there…I could make just as good of decisions.
January 25, 2010 at 11:11 am
The L&L brothers, Letterman and Leno, are thinking dastardly thoughts on how to stop the Conan machine from taking over late night wasteland. I’m sure switching his Rogaine with Nair is one of them.
January 25, 2010 at 2:56 pm
When I was younger I tried Nair on my back before going to the beach one year. Worst sunburn I ever got.
January 25, 2010 at 9:16 pm
lmao silly bugger, u shouldve worn sunscreen
January 25, 2010 at 11:02 pm
I did…it was snorkeling with a bare back.
January 25, 2010 at 1:53 pm
You know, I actually had that same thought about NBC. I’m superised it didn’t get dragged out longer
January 25, 2010 at 2:57 pm
I am surprised they didn’t let him run it a few more weeks until the olympics started.
January 25, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Hey Bearman! Yeah, I’m glad Conan did well! He deserves it; he’s been a nice guy waiting 3 yrs!
January 25, 2010 at 2:57 pm
5 but who is counting.
January 25, 2010 at 3:03 pm
WOW! I’m impressed with your caricature!! Great job, Bear!
January 25, 2010 at 3:28 pm
Does that mean you are usually unimpressed with my caricatures beano??
January 25, 2010 at 3:33 pm
Now don’t go turning around a compliment! 😉
January 25, 2010 at 3:38 pm
Well what would you say to your husband if he said “wow! I’m impressed with how you look today!”
January 25, 2010 at 4:07 pm
You are determined to back me in a corner aren’t you! 🙂
January 25, 2010 at 4:50 pm
Even though Conan’s ratings topped everything, they were still below Jay Leno’s “last” tonight show’s numbers. Just goes to show that because of the majority, we can’t have nice things.
January 25, 2010 at 5:13 pm
Then again there are situations where a certain small group of the public does/does not want something and we all have to follow along.
January 25, 2010 at 5:09 pm
I heard that a lot of the great skits Conan had on the Late Show were cut out of the Tonight Show. I hope wherever Conan goes he gets that stuff back in. It was waaaaay better than anything Dave or Jay had/have.
January 25, 2010 at 5:14 pm
Jay is still tops for the monologue. I used to watch Jay’s monologue and then switch to Letterman for everything else. Letterman is just unwatchable anymore.
January 25, 2010 at 5:47 pm
It’s the second coming of Boss George and Billy!
Run! Run! Run for the hills!
January 25, 2010 at 7:41 pm
Huh???
January 27, 2010 at 6:44 pm
Baseball analogy.
George Steinbreener hired and fired Billy Martin about three or four times. They even made a Miller Lite commercial out of it.
January 27, 2010 at 10:36 pm
NOW I get it!! I am thinking Boy George and Billy Dee Williams.
January 28, 2010 at 5:43 pm
Oh God, that’s a frightening thought!
January 25, 2010 at 8:38 pm
Not a bad technique – generates lots of publicity – free advertising …
Still, late night? Not sure I believe in late nights these days. Must be the long years catching up…
January 25, 2010 at 11:02 pm
No late nights when getting up for work isn’t the same option as getting up for class.
